Met up with a few of they guys and we rode down to two Severn Bore viewpoints. First, at Epney - this is where the wave builds up and the surfers ride it. Then at Elmore Back where the river is narrower and the ailing wave is squeezer into a tighter channel.
These things can be seen as underwhelming except if we take time to appreciate the power of nature.
You will see I was on my Yamaha XSR125, COlin on his Triumph Trident 660, Colin on his BMW400, Rob on his Suzuki Burgmann, Elliott on his Kawasaki 250 and Dave on his Royal Enfield Meteor 650.

The Severn bore is a tidal bore seen on the tidal reaches of the River Severn in south western England. It is formed when the rising tide moves into the funnel-shaped Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary and the surging water forces its way upstream in a series of waves, as far as Gloucester and beyond. Surfers and kayakers look forward to this world-famous natural phenomenon where they can take to the waves. The phenomenon occurs in certain oceanographic and situations - the shape of the river estuary, the depth of the seabed, weather (high or low pressure) and the hight of the tide. The Spring tides in Avonmouth, in the Severn estuary, are the second highest in the world.
