This is actually one of my favorite NSMB DS songs, and I like it many times more than Wii/U's underwater theme. I think this one has a better chord structure and doesn't play by the typical "underwater theme" rules.
When remixing this, I tried to combine its style with that of SMB3's underwater theme, so the drums added weren't even present in the original song. I think they still fit really well and add to what would be an otherwise empty aspect of the song.

My chiptune music is meant to emulate the 2A03 chip, which has two square channels, one triangle channel, one noise channel, and a sample channel.
