The myths and legends surrounding many famous foods is fascinating. This story caught my attention since it involved the famous Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli, the god Mars, and tortellini! You will never believe what the shape of the tortellini was supposably inspired by.
Italian culinary history is filled with some of the most creative and innovative recipes, which are famous around the world. I met with Karima Moyer-Nocchi, a culinary historian and author, to learn more about the myths and history behind these small, twisted works of art.
