On this Day in the Life of a Chaplain Resident, I talk about spending time with two family members struggling to find the answers to why their loved one died. The first encounter was with a parent grieving the loss of an adult child who made a decision to go Comfort Care without the parent's knowledge. The second is an adult child grieving the unexpected loss of a parent who came in for surgery only to suffer a cardiac arrest and be faced with the decision to move to Comfort Care. Journey with me on both of these encounters as we navigate these family members trying to understand why things have happened the way they have.
