This video is continuing on from my last tutorial on alla prima techniques with oil paint, which created a monochromatic grisaille underpainting. In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create transparent glazes of color using oil painting medium to build up color over the monochromatic base.
Materials used:
- Winsor & Newton oil paint
- Gamblin Galkyd medium: dries quickly, Liquin is also a good option for speed (you can use linseed or walnut oil for longer dry time, or a specialized glazing medium)
- odorless mineral spirits
