Transition-metal free chemistry is a nice tagline for a research paper that probably belongs in tet let but you know the authors were hoping to trojan horse their work into Angewandte Chemie. But let's be honest - transition metals can do some pretty awesome synthetic chemistry.
In this video, I share the power of rhodium catalysis for the deletion of carbonyls in aldehydes, the use of zirconium to turn alkenes and alkynes into basically anything you could want, and finally I share the power of titanium-based methods of functionalizing esters, and oh boy are there a lot of cyclopropanes in this video.
