At Underground Music Academy students are given a launchpad for the next chapters of their careers, “teleporting them through the past into the future,” says its founder @waajeed This past May, director Evan Zott documented the journeys of nine UMA students and community members as they prepared to perform onstage at Detroit’s Movement Festival.
Created in collaboration with Carhartt WIP Zott’s film explores UMA’s 2024 Elements Course alongside promoter and producer Movement Detroit Paxahau the Detroit Techno Foundation, and Resident Advisor.
