ATMF began in the late 90's as a webzine and black metal distributor. The label's story officially started with the release of Inter Uterum et Loculum by the Italian black metal band Locus Mortis.
At a time when the Scandinavian scene dominated extreme metal worldwide, ATMF focused on promoting high-quality and visionary black metal acts from Italy and beyond.
Over the years, ATMF has continued to carry the Italian black metal flag while embracing an international vision, driven by passion and an uncompromising dedication to every shade of black metal. The label has become home to such acts as Forgotten Woods, Trist, Aquilus, Lustre, Lantlos, An Autumn for Crippled Children, etc.
The sub label De Tenebrarum Principio was created as a dedicated platform for retro and old-school black metal releases, while A Sad Sadness Song became the home for post-black metal, dark metal, and more experimental expressions promoted throughout the years.
The CULT EDITION series is a collection of timeless classics that the lab chose to revive and promote once again.
