The Plus Hardcard was an 8 bit ISA card that plugged into a PC or XT or compatible. They would enable you to add a hard drive as an addon card to very early PC compatible machines.
I bought a new old stock drive and open it on video. It was faulty so I repaired it and explain the whole process for others who have the same problem.
