Mail time and unboxing my new Grizzly Belt Grinder or Sander (G1015).
I also bought a bunch of 2x72 belts from Pops Knife Supplies.

Pop's Recommendation on Belts:

The following belts are to achieve a satin belt finish on the blade:
For you bevel grinding you need to stick to ceramics and we recommend you start with a 60grit then go to a 120grit, you can use a 80grit but it is not necessary, for these we would say start with the VSM XK870 belts and once you get the hang of grinding you can upgrade to the Norton Blaze belts.
Next we would go to a 3M Trizact CF A100, you don’t need to get a lot of these as they last quite a long time.
From there we use a Maroon Surface conditioning belt that has been loaded with WD40 and then a Blue Surface conditioning belt which is dry and has no WD40. The Surface conditioning belts are pricey but make all the difference, they also last forever, I have had mine for over 6 months and still use it.
For handle shaping we would recommend the AZ-X belts, a 36grit for hogging and a 80grit for shaping. Next is a belt that not a lot of makers know about but it makes shaping the handle much easier and that is the Klingspor Scalloped belts, I would say a 220grit is fine but you can also get a 400grit to get closer to final finish. What makes this belt so good is that the belt edges will not cut into the handle material when rounding and shaping.
These are the basic belts you would need to start with, you might want to get a couple of Jflex belts for other purposes like sharpening and spine finishing and we offer a economy belt the TAJ, as well as other options like the.Hermes 406 JFlex which should serve those purposes well.
