Unboxing, looking round and having a first test of Rode's new Stereo VideoMic X microphone - a substantial step up over previous "VideoMic"-branded products.
Important: to appreciate properly the characteristics of the mic, you will need to be listening either on good, neutral headphones or a decent soundcard / loudspeaker combo. Listening on a phone / tablet / laptop using built-in speakers is almost certainly a waste of time due to limited sound quality.
Note also the following aspects will affect the sound:
1) The pre-amps on the camcorder used (XF200)
2) The audio render for upload to YouTube
3) YouTube's re-render of the item for playback
4) Your soundcard / amp
5) Your listening device (headphones / speakers)
6) Your room acoustics
7) Your hearing!
