UKAirscape | Unbox and First Look: Canon XA20 (XA25 / HF G30) camcorder @UKAirscape | Uploaded 11 years ago | Updated 6 hours ago
Unboxing and taking a first look around the Canon XA20 camcorder, which is the "pro" version of the Legria / Vixia HF-G30, and the brother of the XA25.
There are very few differences between all three in terms of the camcorder body; the XA models have infra-red recording mode which the G30 doesn't, and the G30 has an extra bit of WiFi functionality (YouTube / Facebook upload via Canon Image Gateway) that the XA models don't but apart from that, they're much the same.
However, the XA models, as the name implies, also have XLR Audio. This comes on a detachable handle, just as the prior XA10 model had.
PLEASE NOTE. In the video I refer to the BP809 battery as being compatible with the camcorder, assuming that because Canon had incremented the numbers by 1, so the correct battery for this one would be BP809 (ie 808 + 1). In fact the BP809 is for the older camera too so will almost certainly not work with the new model. Sorry, mea culpa.
If you buy the XA20 via our Amazon link, it helps us keep the reviews going: http://amzn.to/1HVYDIA
Likewise the HF-G30: http://amzn.to/15NXggu
And the official Canon high-power battery, the BP-828: http://amzn.to/1yfY9ZA
