Fossils are thought to take millions of years to form. This generally means only hard bones and shells can get preserved. The idea that soft tissue would get preserved is ludicrous? Some amazing research is revealing soft tissue detail that not only asks big questions about the formation process of fossils but also reveals that trilobites had a hyper eye that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
