American jazz saxophonist Scott Hamilton sits down with Cellar Live's Cory Weeds to discuss, unapologetically, his deep affection for simple melodies and swinging rhythm.
The interview was given on a short set break at Vancouver's TD International Jazz Festival in the summer of 2017, decades after Hamilton learned on the bandstand from the likes of Roy Eldridge, Anita O'Day, Benny Goodman and Hank Jones. As Hamilton recounts his A-list mentors, we see him mentor Cory Weeds, and the two close out the show together.
