The BMA400 acceleration sensor from Bosch Sensortec is an ultra-low power solution specifically designed for wearables and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The new accelerometer uses ten times less current than existing products whilst still delivering exceptional performance. Thereby, the sensor significantly extends the battery life in devices, meaning that batteries need less frequent charging and replacement. This is especially valuable for IoT applications such as smart indoor climate systems and smart home security systems. Furthermore, the integrated ultra-low power step counter of the BMA400 makes it easy to add activity recognition into new types of wearables such as regular watches, cutting down development time and effort.
