The Ultra-Track Pan railroad spill containment system is a modular system designed to capture leaks and spills from tanker cars, locomotives and other rail cars and equipment. This video will provide an overview of the Ultra-Track Pan installation process but it is very important that installers also read the provided instructions in their entirety.

Before laying down any Ultra-Track Pans, treated lumber (included) should be installed.

Installation of Center Track Pans

First remove the grates from pans that are to be installed.

Using wood spacers to keep the pan centered, place the first pan.

Insert the two included bulkhead fittings through the holes in the sidewall. Do not screw on the bulkhead fitting nuts at this time.

Place the next Ultra-Track Pan by beginning at an approximate 45 degree angle.

Once the pan is completely lowered and in place, screw the bulkhead fittings together.

NOTE: the bulkhead fittings are reverse (left hand) threaded and tighten in a counter-clockwise direction.

Included gaskets are now installed on one side of the pan. This patented feature prevents any spills that may occur from getting between the rails and the pans.

Two bar clamps and a support board (Clamps and board are not included) should be used to compress the installed gaskets against the rail, creating space for the gaskets on the opposite side to be installed.

Installation of Side Track Pans

Next, the side pans are installed. First, place spacers between the pan and the rail ties to insure proper spacing. While applying pressure with a foot, hammer rebar into the notched extensions on the side of the pan. (Rebar not included) Each side pan will require two pieces of rebar to keep it secure.

The process for placing the subsequent side pans in the system is similar to the steps for the center pans except that there is only one bulkhead fitting used instead of two.

This process is continued for the entire length of the Ultra-Track Pan system.

If more containment is necessary or desired, below grade piping can be installed to route spilled liquids to a containment or retention area.

If covers have been ordered, installation of those should be done next.

Your Ultra-Track Pan system is now completely installed and ready for use.
