We are thrilled to see the UK Atomic Energy Authority, together with members from ENI and RAICo, advancing the use of inspection drones for decommissioning work inside the JET torus hall at the Culham site!

"These are complex, congested, and sensitive environments, where people generally can't reach, so we are testing the latest generation of drone technology to better understand how we can scan our facilities," says Simon Tate from the UK AEA.

In this video, the Elios 3 RAD is seen inspecting complex environments, capturing vital datasets, including radiation levels, LiDAR models, and visual footage. Areas like this present significant challenges for human access, making drone technology an essential tool for planning and executing decommissioning projects both today and in the future.
