I've been wanting to make this video for a while. I've used Synology NAS units for years and years. Last year, I got a UGREEN NASync DXP4800 (sent to me by Ugreen), and it's a very similar unit in terms of size and functionality... however the hardware is far more powerful. So, the question is this: Is the Synology software good enough to get you to buy a lower-spec unit?
At this point, the Ugreen UGOS software has improved to the point where I think it should meet most peoples' needs. Synology certainly still has an edge in this department, but it's getting closer. So, watch the video. I'll cover the hardware, and I'll go into details regarding the software differences.
Lastly, the Ugreen NASync DXP4800 allows you to install 3rd party operating systems. So, you have more options here as well.
