Jim Wright, an ex-police reservist and Salvation Army gospel singer from the Corcrain estate in Portadown, was killed by a bomb planted in his car as he set off for work. His 21-year-old daughter Anne was seriously injured in the blast. The murder is claimed to be the work of the Irish National Liberation Army.
