Short answer: we’re doing a LOT.
Long answer: the bridge was built in 1966. It’s old old. And it needs a full replacement.
At the same time, we know how important this connection is, so we’re keeping traffic moving during construction. That means replacing the bridge one side at a time, which naturally takes longer.
We’re also working carefully around major utilities and the rail lines that serve both UTA and Union Pacific, which adds another layer of complexity.
So yes, it’s a two-year project.
But yes, it will be worth it.
