During her career-long commitment to public health, Diane Havlir, MD, professor and associate chair, Clinical Research, chief of UCSF HIV, Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine, has built strong relationships with the City and County of San Francisco, the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and advocacy and community groups to combat HIV/AIDS and COVID-19.

She is the winner of the 2024 Chancellor Award for Public Service.

“It’s really important for me that there is equitable access to medical advances and I feel proud and honored to work at an institution where that’s a core value,” Diane said.

The UCSF Founder’s Day Awards celebrate the outstanding service of faculty, staff and learners to the University and to our community in fulfillment of our mission of advancing health worldwide.
