Professor Sir Jeffrey Jowell KC joined UCL Faculty of Laws in 1975, and held office as Dean of the Faculty for two key periods in its history: from 1981 to 1989, and from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. He was also Head of Department during these periods.

In this fascinating conversation marking UCL’s bicentennial, Sir Jeffrey – who is one of the most prominent scholars and practitioners of public law and public international law globally – discusses his academic career, his experiences at the Faculty, and the transformations that took place during his time in office.
