Now a fourth-year student at UC Davis, Azucena (Zucy) Virgen first discovered her passion for science in a high school biology class in her hometown of Woodland, California. Zucy's long-term goal is to lead a research lab and mentor future scientists.
Similar to many other students, Zucy has dealt with imposter syndrome. However, this hasn't stopped her, instead it pushes her to want to show other students that they can pursue their goals as well and be successful.
