$COSMIC 1.4 Released With New Sound Theme and Major Fixes System76 has released COSMIC 1.4, the latest stable version of its open-source, Rust-based Linux desktop environment. The update introduces a brand-new default sound theme, improved fractional scaling accuracy, better NetworkManager support, and several upgrades across COSMIC Files, COSMIC Monitor, COSMIC Panel, COSMIC Launcher, Settings, Workspaces, and the compositor. COSMIC Monitor now offers a force-quit option, additional CPU and GPU graph types, and GPU frequency monitoring. The release also fixes fullscreen gaming issues, menu flickering, panel crashes, incorrect window borders, audio-control problems, and several other stability bugs.
