Prosecutors charged an Indianapolis man with murder, rape and abuse of a corpse in the killing of a missing woman the southeast side of Indianapolis.

Francisco Valadez, 29, pleaded not guilty at hearing on Monday, Sept. 16 and is being held without bond.

Officers responded to the 1800 block of Wagner Lane, near East Raymond Street and South Sherman Drive, shortly after 1 p.m. Sept. 9 on a report of a dead person found near a wooded area.

When officers arrived, they found 30-year-old Chanti Dixon dead outside of a home. IMPD said she was naked and had gunshot wounds.

Investigators said family members had not heard from Dixon since the weekend and reported her missing Monday morning.

According to court documents, Dixon ordered an Uber after she got off work around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8. She never made it home though.
