My local club uses an old school version of SORRCA. Its geared towards scale back before performance scale took over. This means the trucks are super scale and generally pretty heavy. Its a lot of fun making these trucks perform. Its also so cool to see, since the heavier trucks react more like a real truck.
We have a low scale point class and I decided to make a build to fit in that category. The Vanquish Phoenix seemed like a good candidate to use. I looked around and settled on a UAZ 469. I wanted to keep the look of the Phoenix, so I designed the body to have an open rear and molded the stock roll cage into the body. This allows me to keep the pivot hinge system.
