Originally a demo from the 1984 sessions for The Unforgettable Fire, Yoshino Blossom was dusted off for the 2009 25th anniversary re-isssue. The yoshino is the Japanese cherry blossom, and ties in with the theme of the band naming the album after a traveling Japanese art exhibit of the same name as inspiration for both the song and album title. The exhibition, which the band attended in Chicago, commemorated the victims of the bombing of Hiroshima.
