KCSO Deputies Assist with Water Rescue: Body-Cam Footage Kendall County Sheriffs Office 2023-10-18 | Kendall County Deputies and Plainfield Fire Department personnel assisted a man during a water rescue after he became pinned under a lawn tractor in a small pond Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputies received a call requesting assistance, and upon arriving Deputy Angerame heard calls for help and rushed to assist. Deputy Angerame approached the pond and saw a lawn tractor overturned in the pond. He found the man pinned underneath the lawn tractor with his face barely above the waterline. Deputy Angerame climbed into the water and noticed the lawn tractor was sinking into the mud and dragging the man further under the water. Deputy Angerame attempted to stabilize the lawn tractor to keep it from sinking further while holding the man’s head above the water to ensure he was able to breathe. Plainfield Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and began developing a plan to free the man. Deputy Lynch also arrived on the scene and entered the water to assist as well. Deputies and Plainfield Fire Department personnel were able to move the lawn tractor and Deputy Lynch pulled the man out from under the lawn tractor. The man was not injured as a result of this incident. Sheriff Dwight Baird said, “Our deputies are always ready to respond to any public safety emergency. This is a great example of the dedication our deputies have to our community. Deputies Angerame and Lynch were able to work together with the Plainfield Fire Department to ensure the situation was resolved quickly and safely. It is this strong community partnership and the great interagency collaboration we have with area first responder agencies that produce these positive outcomes. As a community, we are lucky to have first responders who are ready to spring into action to help others in their times of need.”
Joint Critical Incident Debrief - Officer-Involved Shooting Kendall County Sheriffs Office 2024-10-04 | Today, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office and the Plano Police Department are releasing portions of the 911 call, body-worn camera, and squad car dash camera footage detailing the events leading up to the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Friday, September 27, 2024.We have requested the Illinois State Police conduct an independent investigation into this incident, and the findings will be provided to the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office for a final review.Please be advised that this release contains graphic content and may be difficult to watch. KCSO Youth Academy Class 24-04 | Weeks 5 & 6 Kendall County Sheriffs Office 2024-07-31 | Weeks 5 and 6 of the Law Enforcement Youth Academy were filled with hands-on lessons, including Stop the Bleed training and learning what to do in an active shooter situation. Participants also learned about the Criminal Justice Field from an AU Professor and had some fun with night vision goggles. Want to learn more about the Youth Academy? KCSO Youth Academy Class 24-04 | Week 3-4 Kendall County Sheriffs Office 2024-07-24 | During Week 3, Class 24-04 met with the Kendall County Emergency Management Agency to learn about the Community Emergency Response Team, as well as participate in some practical exercises. They also had a visit from our Electronic Home Monitoring division. Week 4 was spent at the Bristol Kendall Fire Department, where they learned basic first aid, CPR, and much more.

The last few months have been busy here at the Sheriff's Office. We hosted the Take Back the Night event here at the Sheriff's Office to bring awareness to domestic violence and the impacts it has on our community. We welcomed a new corrections deputy and three new patrol deputies to the Sheriff's Office and recognized several employees who have served the residents of Kendall County for 15 years. We celebrated our first graduating class of the InToWork program. We also attended a Cub Scout meeting along with numerous community events throughout the month!
Kendall County Board Recognizes Deputies For Water Rescue Kendall County Sheriffs Office 2023-11-08 | Last night at the Kendall County Board Meeting Undersheriff Bobby Richardson and the Kendall County Board recognized Deputies Angerame and Lynch for their actions on October 11th in which they responded to a man trapped under a lawn tractor with his head barely above the water. They ensured his head remained above water until he could be freed. First, participants took part in a civilian active shooter response course and became Stop the Bleed certified. KCSO Lateral Recruiting Video - Spring 2023 Kendall County Sheriffs Office 2023-03-31 | We are currently seeking experienced law enforcement officers to join both our Patrol and Corrections Divisions.We value your experience and training and believe your previous years of service to your communities should not go unrecognized. We have recently restructured our lateral program’s starting compensation scale to reflect year-for-year service credit up to our current 9-year top-out. Kendall County is part of the IMRF/SLEP pension system and we currently have 14 paid holidays. Specifically for our patrol division, we are in the process of implementing a take-home squad program that will be fully rolled out by the end of 2024. Our patrol division currently works a 12-hour shift schedule while our corrections division currently has an 8.5-hour shift schedule. We have many opportunities for career development, and we have recently opened eligibility for specialty positions for all sworn employees regardless of probationary status.
