Many people like to start out at the amusingly named Bar Stewards micropub on Shalesmoor. Right across the road from that is the excellent Shakespeares with its massive menu of hand-pull drinks. It is then just a short walk to the extremely popular Kelham Island Tavern. This amazing pub is the only venue to have won the CAMRA’s national Pub of the Year award in two consecutive years.If you’re arriving to the area on the Supertram, the Shalesmoor stop sits right next to The Wellington, the tap pub of the Neepsend Brewery. From there is is a hop over the crossings to get to the likes of The Ship, a historical pub which has been refurbished to a high standard in the last few years. It is said that two seamen, possibly smugglers, drowned during the Sheffield Flood of 1864 in secret tunnels under the pub.Probably the most important pub in Kelham Island is The Fat Cat.But what if Real Ale just isn’t your thing? Kelham Island has pretty much everyone covered. The Kelham Wine Bar is situated just at the end of the Ball Street bridge alongside its sister venue Graffiti Bar and Kitchen, which happens to have a lovely cocktail menu as well as a funky outside pod dining area.Sat atop recycled shipping containers at the Krynkl complex is INC, Sheffield’s first rooftop bar. Some of the best Beer Gardens in Sheffield can be found in Kelham Island, such as Riverside Kelham. Remember to nip across the bridge for a good view of the famous artwork by Phlegm on the wall behind here.The Milestone started the revolution of Kelham Island as a food destination.What a place Cutlery Works is! Located in and named after the old Rutland Cutlery Works on Neepsend Lane, this amazing building has 14 food outlets and 3 bars on 2 floors - making it the largest foodhall in the North of England.A must-visit event is Peddler, a night market that takes place at 92 Burton Road warehouses on the first Friday and Saturday of every month. By now many people around the world know the story of Tony Foulds and the Mi Amigo disaster in Sheffield’s Endcliffe Park in 1944.But that story, or at least Tony’s recollection of it, has been brought into question.Former Sheffield Star writer Martin Dawes has written a piece on his own website entitled ‘Tony and the Mi Amigo, does it add up?’The main points of contention appear to be how long Tony Foulds has actually been attending to the memorial, and whether Tony’s story about the circumstances of the crash are true.BBC reports from when Dan Walker first met the pensioner in January suggest that Tony had looked after to the memorial for a significant amount of time. Many seem to think in terms of decades and watching back footage does seem to suggest that - both Dan Walker’s first tweet about meeting Foulds and subsequently one of the first BBC reports states Tony has been tending to the area - quote - “ever since” - the crash happened.However, recently revealed footage from a YouTube video interview by Harry Gold shows Tony Foulds himself suggesting he had started visiting the memorial just two years ago. The interview was filmed in November 2018 and uploaded to YouTube in December 2018 - well before Dan Walker’s chance encounter with Tony brought the whole story to the public’s consciousness in January 2019.Historian David Harvey, author of ‘Mi Amigo, the story of Sheffield’s Flying Fortress’ disagrees with Tony’s story too. In the book he says that claims the plane crashed avoiding children on the field is an urban legend that seemed to start in the 90s. In his research Harvey spoke to many first-hand witnesses and read numerous newspaper reports and none ever suggested it was the case that the pilot was avoiding children.As well as eye-witness accounts, it is claimed photographic evidence, would also dispute this version of events. Harvey suggests that had the plane avoided children on the grass the nose of the crashed plane would have been facing uphill, whereas all the evidence shows if pointing in the opposite direction, downhill.All first-hand witness accounts in fact suggest the aircraft simply ‘spiralled out of the sky’ and dropped on the crash site rather than anything resembling a controlled descent and ‘belly landing’.What do you think? But there is a big problem with people freebooting content (ripping videos from one creator and uploading them to their own pages without permission or acknowledgement).It has happened in the past but more recently I became a victim of Freebooting with a particular video I uploaded being ripped and shared dozens of times on Facebook and YouTube, as though it were their own creation. What a FUN GAME!Star Wars Battlefront is an upcoming action video game based on the Star Wars franchise. The third major release in the Star Wars: Battlefront series, it is being developed by EA DICE and will be published by Electronic Arts. Despite this, it is not considered a sequel to the previous games, but rather a reboot. It is scheduled for release on November 17, 2015 in North America and Brazil, November 19, 2015 in Australia and November 20, 2015 in Europe for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.Star Wars Battlefront is an action game played from either a first-person or third-person view; players can switch at any time, similarly to the previous games. Players traverse planets from the Star Wars universe, such as Endor, Hoth, Tatooine and the newly introduced planet of Sullust. To navigate the world, players use a variety of vehicles, including both air and land-based vehicles. Battles are planet-based, restricting players from exploring space. The game's weapons, characters, gear and abilities are customizable. As new weapons are unlocked, players have the ability to share them with their teammates. Battlefront will not feature iron sights.The game lets players choose to control either a Rebel Alliance soldier or an Imperial Stormtrooper. There will also be playable characters from the films, such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett, as well as non-playable characters, such as R2-D2 and C-3PO. The game includes cooperative missions which can be played offline but does not have a campaign mode. Players can complete the missions both independently and with bots or another player; the game supports split screen on consoles. The game's online multiplayer mode supports up to 40 players in one match and 12 multiplayer maps will be available at launch. These maps will feature five locations from the Star Wars universe - Hoth, Tatooine, Endor, Sullust and Jakku.

Follow the steps in the video!1) Log in to iTunes Connect.Firstly, login to iTunes Connect Artist Accounts service here: itunesconnect.apple.com/WebObjects/iTunesConnect.woa2) Select content typeSelect Artist content type on the get started with iTunes If presented with the ‘Get Started with iTunes Connect’ page, select ‘Artists’. 3) Click '+'!Click the + button to ‘request to manage an Apple Music account’.4) Select your band/artist nameEnter the name of the band or artist whose profile you wish to manage. Nick Clegg piñata with Mark Thomas // DeeJayOne The Sheffield Guide by DeeJayOne 2015-03-17 | Comedian and political activist Mark Thomas staged an ‘act of minor dissent’ in Sheffield city centre. Filmed and archived here for posterity by DeeJayOne.The stand-up funny man had a special piñata made for the activism event, fashioned into an effigy of Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.A number of followers responded to a tweet from Thomas, advising to meet outside Sheffield City Hall at 12:40pm.Mark Thomas arrived with his unique prop and after a short introduction the group made their way to the Peace Gardens to take part in the stunt.“The piñata represents Nick Clegg,” said Thomas, “as you break him some treats will fall out, along with slips of paper containing a number of Clegg’s broken promises.“You’ll note that the coalition agreement is also represented in a symbolic position,” he added, pointing to a roll of paper sticking out of the doll’s bottom.The Peace Gardens was specifically chosen for the event, being the place Nick Clegg promised to “say goodbye to broken promises” when launching the Liberal Democrats’ election manifesto in a 2010 party political broadcast.Volunteers were blindfolded and given a stick to swing at the piñata, with each hit garnering cheers and applause from the group.After the model was broken up Thomas and the group read out several of the ‘broken promises’ from the slips that fell out.The remains of the piñata were then kept by the comedian, to be put on display inside the Millennium Galleries as part of a display celebrating Mark Thomas’ ‘100 acts of minor dissent’.Thomas has for the past year embarked on a challenge to commit 100 acts of minor dissent, of which the Nick Clegg piñata was number 95.He gave himself a year since he started the campaign to complete all 100 acts. If he fails Thomas has pledged to pay £1000 to Ukip, a party he describes as the “political equivalent of chlamydia.”Following the conclusion of the challenge, which also featured a demonstration against Curzon cinemas outside their soon-to-open Sheffield theatre last year, the political activist will host a stand-up show at The Leadmill on Thursday 15 May, where he will go through a routine based on the years’ events.With 100 acts to cram in, the already sold out show will last ‘4 to 5 hours’ and feature a number of people who have helped complete the tasks, as well as photos and video from the events.Additionally, an exhibition will be made from photographs and props used in the 100 acts and displayed at Sheffield’s Millennium Galleries.

The festival has in the past been free to attend but main area access is now with paid for wristbands (most fringe venues including dozens of bars, pubs and clubs remain free of charge). The line-up consists of national and local artists. The festival is curated and organised by a panel comprising local venue owners, promoters and volunteers. The name of the festival is inspired by the city's tram network. Tramlines held its first festival in 2009, which attracted 35,000 fans and was seen as a huge success, and 2010's event doubled that figure. Tramlines 2011 took place between Friday 22 and Sunday 24 July. Goals by Claudio Marchisio and Mario Ballotelli in a well fought game sealed the Group D points for the Azzurri.The atmosphere inside a packed Plug nightclub in Sheffield, where fans were watching on screens around the venue, including a giant HD screen, was awesome. Perfect for beginners and baking enthusiasts alike! 🍩🔥 First, here's what you'll learn in this tutorial:The secret to the perfect doughnut texture.How to get that signature Krispy Kreme taste.Tips and tricks for the best homemade doughnuts.📝 Full Recipe Details Below (Including alternative measurements):Ingredients:(alternative measurements given in the video where relevant) 2 packs of yeast⅓ cup lukewarm water1½ cup milk½ cup sugar1 teaspoon salt2 eggs⅓ cup butter5 cups plain flourVegetable oilFor the glaze:½ cup butter2 cups icing sugar2 teaspoon vanilla flavouring5 tablespoons milkDIRECTIONS:Add the yeast to the lukewarm water, leave for 5 minutes to proof/dissolve.Scold the milk by microwaving for a couple of minutes.Once cooled, add the milk to the yeast/water mix along with the sugar, salt, eggs, butter and flour.Mix to a smooth dough consistency.Cover with a cloth and leave for a couple of hours or until it rises to around double the size.Roll out the dough to around a quarter-inch thickness.Using a cookie cutter (or relevant sized bowls/glasses) cut out a number of doughnut shapes (circles with holes in the middle), leave to rise a little longer.Warm around about three inches of vegetable oil in a large pan. When heated enough carefully lower in a donut to fry. Fry for around a minute on each side (until golden brown), then pull out to drain on a rack/paper towels. Repeat for all your donuts.Whilst the complete set of doughnuts cools, make your glaze:Melt the butter and then add in the icing sugar, vanilla and milk. Mix to smooth consistency.Take your donuts, dip them in the glaze then leave to drip and dry.Then eat them. Eat the donuts. ALL OF THEM. They are so nice. Mmmmmmm. Sheffield Wednesday are one of the oldest professional clubs in the world and the third oldest in the English league. For the majority of the match, this shows the score and time, but as of the 2011--12 season, the board shows advertisements every few minutes. For the majority of the match, this shows the score and time, but as of the 2011--12 season, the board shows advertisements every few minutes. Before and after the match, information like team line-ups, fixtures, and other results are shown. The scoreboard has become somewhat of a cult icon of Hillsborough Stadium and Sheffield Wednesday as a whole, loved by the fans for its retro looks and "T-fault", where a series of lights making a T shape light up between animations due to a wiring fault, which has not been fixed on purpose by the club both as a joke and also because of its love by the fans. One of the most popular "T-fault" situations is when announcing the score of fierce rivals Sheffield United - the scoreboard goes "Shhhhhhhh...", then, after a brief pause, "T", and only then does it announce the score.Below the scoreboard is the stadium control building, where all the technical aspects of the stadium are controlled (e.g. lighting, announcements). At the base of the area is a very small section of disused terrace, which has still not been converted to seating.
