New York Post | Typhoon Krathon batters Taiwan with high wind and heavy rain @nypost | Uploaded 1 week ago | Updated 3 days ago
Rain and winds pummeled Kaohsiung City, in south Taiwan, as Typhoon Krathon made landfall on October 3.
Footage filmed by X user @SamKTaiwan shows streets in Kaohsiung littered with uprooted trees, fallen sign posts, and other debris.
“The worst one I have seen in 10 years,” @SamKTaiwan wrote.
As the storm hit, a fire broke out at Antai Tian-Sheng Memorial Hospital in Donggang, killing eight people. At least two other people were killed as a direct result of the typhoon, according to local news.
By Thursday afternoon, Krathon was moving slowing north over Taiwan, according to Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration.
