By the autumn of 1998, the much-maligned Channel 3 North East brand that had (sort of) replaced Tyne Tees Television in 1996 was ditched when the station was bought by Granada. Back came TTTV with a revamped logo, based on, but not as nice as, the iconic linked letter logo.
