FractalWoman | Two Travelling Waves and a Standing Wave Meet in a Bar...LOL @FractalWoman | Uploaded January 2023 | Updated October 2024, 2 minutes ago.
Here is my first attempt at simulating travelling waves using the 2x2 matrix implementation of complex numbers. The yellow and the aqua waves are travelling in opposite directions. The red wave shows the interference pattern created by the two waves travelling in opposite directions which forms a standing wave. Using the 2x2 matrix version of complex numbers, I was able to implement this as a 3D HELIX WAVE as opposed to the standard "planar" sine and cosine waves that you normally see. And of course, being an expert at 3D visualization, visualizing this was a piece of cake (or should I say, a piece of PI). So fun.
