Monday 31st August 2026 was my 73rd birthday.
Here I am with my old mate Chris, out and about at Antrim Co Antrim, on the shores of Lough Neagh, where the Six Mile Water river enters the lough, beside Antrim Castle park Gardens. There is certainly a lot to see here.

In this video we take a wee look round the recently built Gateway exhibition centre which details this part of Lough Neagh in a very colourful, creative, pictorial way, the past history, myths/folklore tales, World War 2 connection, eel fishing, wild life and more of the immediate lough shoreline.

The Gateway is a state-of-the-art visitor centre with an exciting exhibition space, a restaurant and is also home to Lough Neagh Rescue.

Discover the story of Finn McCool and enjoy panoramic views across Lough Neagh. The exhibition space also tells the story of the Lough and its influence on our past, present, and future. Accessible amenities are available in the building from 8:00am – 8:00pm.'
Free carparking and excellent toilets/scenic walkways. a great place to chill out and learn ....leisurely.
