In today's video I am answering some questions that I was asked by @lisawagner6076, related to the general process of creating/designing journals and digital kits, while flipping through the pages of the albums which I created without any specific kit, but used book pages, various cut out elements and pages from some kits that I purchased from other creators instead.
Below is Lisa’s comment with questions:
“Hi Alexandra, I have been binge watching your videos because I really love your style of journal making. I am working on a G45 mini album for my new grandson right now, but I am already thinking about my next project. (Do you do that, dream of the next one before you are done with this one? LOL) But may I ask you a few questions? Do you plan your journals ahead of time, a written out sketch of each page, or do you print out the kit from say Vectoria Designs and make it up as you go along? Or do you have a journal plan and then find a kit for it? Do you have a few page designs that are your go-to for most journals or is everything a fresh new idea? I am just wonder about the thought process of the order of operations that goes into journal making basically. I have a few (actually a lot!) of kits from Vectoria Designs, Gothic Dragons, Gothic Journal, Cabinet of Curiosities, Creative Chronicles, or Medieval Castle that I want to do, but many of them do not have a tutorial for them so I am on my own. Can you offer any words of wisdom here? What are the first steps to journal making? I can not imagine the planning and engineering that goes into designing a kit with acetate windows where all the underneath images all line up! You are a master at digital design! Did you take any classes to learn digital design? That is also something I would love to learn someday. Thanks so much!!”
