During my live stream of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I demonstrated two methods that allow Young Link to reach the Bottom of the Well much earlier than intended. This sequence break is often used by speedrunners to acquire Bombchus before obtaining the Bomb Bag.
Normally, Young Link cannot dive to the Bottom of the Well when he first visits Kakariko Village. However, if Link is interrupted by a conversation or an event, he is unaffected by water physics, and will sink until he hits ground.
The first method I demonstrated uses a Cuccoo to initiate the "Cucco's Revenge Squad." If you attack a Cuccoo (aka a Chicken) enough, he will summon his boyz to fight you, and there will be a swarm of Cuccoos trying to attack you.
If you can damage a Cuccoo with a leap slash (or anything, really) at the edge of the well as Link is above the water, the Cucco's Revenge Squad event will trigger, and Link will sink to the Bottom of the Well!
An alternate method (and this one is probably easier) is to jump in the well when your UP C button is blinking to indicate that Navi has something to tell you.
Climb up the ladder inside the well and immediately hit B twice to jump slash. Just after Link lands from the jump slash, mash UP C to talk to Navi. This should start a conversation with Navi just as Link steps back to fall into the well, and he will sink to the bottom.
