Out of the names listed here, Burt Bacharach is the only one still alive, and at the age of 93 is still going strong in the music business. Interestingly, Joe South's composition 'Down In The Boondocks' is likely to have been intended as a song pitch to Gene Pitney. This makes sense since it is, as noted in the video here, in a similar style to Pitney's recording of 'Twenty Four Hours From Tulsa'.
