Mansi Makes | Two for One Prints on a Gel Plate @MansiMakes | Uploaded March 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Today, I'm sharing how you can get two prints from one creation on the gel plate using two different substrates. I also show you how you can use a variety of different inks and paints on your gel plate in the same print. The key is to experiment and let curiosity drive your creativity!
If I had more patience, I would've let my liquid acrylic inks dry completely before pulling the print ... so if you are NOT like me, you'll probably get less smudges on your final prints. Also, stamping directly on the gel plate gives you a mirror image -- so if there are stamps you want to use mirror images for, just stamp with them directly on the gel plate and pull a print. Let me know in the comments if that's a technique you'd like demonstrated in a video.
I love @grafixarts's Dura-lar archival polyester film for pulling prints off of the gel plate because it always pulls vibrant colors and details while leaving enough to pull another print on cardstock or copy paper.
I hope you enjoyed this video and please let me know if you have any questions.
