Two ferries at Ramsgate on 28th March 2010.
Two very different ferries . The first one "Ostend Spirit", former Dover _ Ostend ferry Prins Filip. the only time i had been on this ferry, was on this ferry's very last Ostend to Dover sailing. Many ferry operators and many years later this ferry is still sailing as the "Isle of Innisfree" between Pembroke Dock and Rosslare.
The second ferry featured started life as the "Pride of Free Enterprise" i need not say that it was a sister ship of the "Herald of Free Enterprise" known as the Spirit class. With three sister ships built Spirit, Herald and Pride the last built. This ship built as "Pride of Free Enterprise" was re named Pride of Bruges on the take over by P&O. Then the ferry company merged with Stena line the vessel was re named "POSL Picardy". Then was renamed "Oleander " and operated out of Ramsgate to Ostend , then operated in the Mediterranean before being scrapped in 2015.
