Yes, it's a rerun folks!
I originally posted this in December 2017 on my personal channel, but seeing as how I'm still trying to bring all my previous works to this channel, I figure now would be a good time to post this while I still work hard on a new project (hopefully up next week.)
I remember this project took about a month and a half to complete? Man, making all 5 of the clay puppets move when they all shared a frame was stressful, and this was before I had access to onion skinning as well.
I think my animation since this project has notably improved as well, but of course that could just be my mind playing tricks on me.
There's a few things I would have done differently, going back on this project now. Notably, the animation. I feel like I have a better understanding now on what makes a puppet feel interesting to look at, especially during a fight, and I don't like the opening of the short either. I would definitely put some actual effort into set design on a second go around, but given this was back when I was attempting to get as good as I possibly could in other aspects (such as animation, framing and editing) I can see why I didn't put more effort into the set. Doesn't mean I wouldn't redo that part though!
Aside from that, I hope you enjoy this action piece.
