At first glance, this chess board looks like it was made from two completely different woods...but
there is a secret behind it.

In this video, I build a custom hardwood chess board using both heartwood and sapwood from the very same board to create the contrast between light and dark squares. This project is a great example of how understanding wood can completely change the look of your builds.
