This is the son of the original Mr. Twister that used to be at the original Elitch Gardens location. From everyone I've talked to that has ridden both and every review and book about Elitch's I've seen, this one is much more tame than the original Mr. Twister. This one opened when the new Elitch Gardens location opened on May 27, 1995. It was designed by John Pierce and built by the Hensel Phelps Construction Co. According to RCDB.com, it is 4,640 ft. long, 100 ft. high, and has a top speed of about 50 mph. The owners tried to replicate the original Mr. Twister as much as possible by including Mr. Twister's famous turn at the top of the lift hill and massive helix but the ride just didn't live up to expectations. It is also pretty rough (even for a wooden coaster) and very loud. That being said, I believe the ride experience could be improved a bit with a extensive refurbishment.
