This episode represents well an issue that the show has since they closed Laura's case so early in the season : they miss one main narrative arc. Here, we can understand they try to have Windom Earle being that new main enemy and mystery, but they created AND closed so many other stories into just a few episodes… We can feel they're a little lost. Windom Earle being that close, killing people now, maybe being in alliance soon with Leo, can be interesting. Way more than James and that not necessary story we had, just to have him at the end on the run.
This episode is also the perfect example for you guys of why telling me spoilers in the comments is bad. At the end of one previous episode, we saw Catherine talking with her brother and you saw I had doubts about is he real or she's hallucinating ? One of you told me the answer… I talked with the person, who apologized, we moved on. But clearly, you can see in this episode that what should have been a big reveal moment for me was wasted because of that. So please, be nice, be careful, no spoilers allowed. I won't be nice anymore about it.
