Full, No-Death/No-Miss run of Twin Eagle: Revenge Joe's brother (ツインイーグル) for the NES/Famicom, made by SETA and Romstar. This was played on a real NES with real cart.
Stage Listing:
00:00 - Stage 1
03:21 - Stage 2
06:12 - Stage 3
09:05 - Stage 4
12:04 - Stage 5
16:02 - Final "Boss" + Ending
So right off the bat we find a game that has a bizarre name. What does "Revenge Joe's brother" even mean? Well you'd think that playing the game you would find out, but you'd be wrong. None of this is ever mentioned beyond this one title screen. Even in the ending text it's never mentioned. It's just weird.
Anyway, as far as playing the game, you must pick up powerups from destroying enemies in order to do anything in this game. And I mean it. If you do not pick up a speed up (the large "S" powerup) as your first powerup, you will be dead in seconds. The game is basically impossible on the default speed setting, so make sure to get a speed up as soon as possible.
Unfortunately Twin Eagle has these annoying cycling powerups that must be shot to go to the next option (similar to 1943). That becomes very annoying to do when you are already trying to avoid being killed by everything in sight.
Once you have your speed up (and you only want to get 1, any more and the ship becomes way too fast), start upgrading your weapon. I always tend to go for the green "w" spread shots, as they provide the best coverage. Continue to pick these up until you are fully powered up.
After that, you basically just have to not die. If you die even once in the game, it's pretty much over. Your ship is just way to slow to do anything useful. So unless you get lucky and can grab a speed up quickly after death, you are a goner. The one thing that is working in your favor is it seems that you cannot crash into other enemies, as they seem to just fly right through you without doing anything. So you really just need to avoid bullets, and that's pretty much all there is to it.
There are no bosses at all in the game, and even the "final boss" is just a wall on a building you have to destroy. After destroying the wall, you are again treated to one of the most bizarre ending texts I've ever seen.
Despite all my complaints about the game it still isn't THAT horrible. I mean besides the simple graphics and having only two music track the entire game, I still found it kind of fun to play while it lasted.

![Contra: Hard Corps (Genesis) - No Death Run [Big Magnum Ending]
Full no death run of Contra: Hard Corps (魂斗羅 ザ・ハードコア in Japan) by Konami for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive! This run was done with the US version of the game, which has 1 hit deaths unlike the Japanese version. Im playing as Ray and going through the path ending with the fight with Big Magnum (aka Mother Brain lol).
This was played on a JVC XEye with real cartridge, no emulation or cheats were used.
Stage Listing:
00:00 - Intro
00:26 - Stage 1 - City Battle
03:21 - Stage 2 - High Speed Fight
05:41 - Stage 3 - Junkyard
09:15 - Stage 4 - Jungle
15:28 - Stage 5 - Space Showdown
19:39 - Final Boss + Ending
This route is the shortest in the game if you exclude the secret route/arena ending. The hardest part is the final stage, particularly the Dr. Wily robot boss right before the final boss. He has some nasty attacks, and perhaps the hardest attack in the entire game to dodge when he launches the spear like weapons out. Thankfully, this doesnt always occur, although it did to me in this run and I just barely was able to avoid it.
The final showdown with Big Magnum isnt too bad. The very first attack of the first form is perhaps the hardest to dodge, the rest arent really too bad. Once you defeat him you get to see perhaps the worst (at least the most tragic) ending in the game, where your hero actually dies along with Colonel Bahamut as the space station explodes.
