TWICE's Chaeyoung is leaving JYP Entertainment after 14 years, and Xdinary Heroes leader Gunil's contract has been terminated — all in one chaotic week for JYP.
Chaeyoung shared the news directly with ONCE in a handwritten letter, promising that nothing changes with TWICE while she builds her music in her own LIL FANTASY world. Just a day earlier, she also addressed the viral clip that allegedly showed her vaping at an event, directly denying the rumor on Bubble and explaining she was simply drinking.
Meanwhile, JYP announced on August 13 that it had terminated Gunil's exclusive contract after alleged private conversations were leaked online by someone claiming to be his former girlfriend. Gunil has since posted a farewell letter to fans, apologizing and admitting he made inappropriate remarks in the leaked recording, while explaining that he had been struggling with sasaeng harassment and malicious comments. According to JYP, Xdinary Heroes will continue as a five-member group.
