Lancaster (UK) post punk trio, TV FACE, continues to amaze and engage me with their angular divergent punk sound. I love the sheer punkery here and think of punk stalwarts like Gang of Four and the Dead Kennedys. This is not to say that TV Face is necessarily informed by those bands or sounds like them, let's just say that they are cut from the same sweat and blood stained cloth (musically speaking of course). When guitar breaks happen it is so heavenly and when the eruption of girl boy vox catch fire it is so smile inducing.
I had the pleasure of meeting them via Zoom and talking a bit about their aesthetic, what informs them and how they have been making music during the pandemic.
TV FACE are sTeVe (vocals/guitar), Brigit (bass/vocals) and Neil (drums) and they have been together for just over a year. Their next EP "Work Hard, Have Fun" dropping August
