Another day, another 4x4 door. Contrary to the last one I showed, this design uses no observers or note blocks, so it works in every version of the game since 1.5! However, that does come with a slight volume penalty, though 336 blocks is still the smallest observerless design out there!

This is my greatest redstone build to date! this 5x5 piston door is crazy fast at just 1.0 seconds to close and 1.2 seconds to open! I came up with this concept about a year ago and built a prototype, but only recently found time to compact it down to the current size.
NOTE: I updated the opening time in the title. Since this video was uploaded, the way we measure door speeds has seen a slight change, which increases times by 0.15s.

Sorry it took so long to get it out, but heres the tutorial for the 3x3 hipster youve been asking for!
The doors dimensions are 6x11x16. It opens in 2.15s and closes in 0.5s. It works in any of the 1.11 releases, any of the 1.12 releases, and in 1.13.1 and above.
