Additional challenge that makes it 2x harder for observerless but 1.0000000001x harder for observers: Make it entirely seamless so that you can't even see the piston head under the chest when it's open. I recommend 1-ticking the wall pistons instead of powering them with a torch and that way you can slide the needed block in between the wall block and the retracted piston. I would make a diagram but I'm way too lazy to do that.
