This can be reliable on smp, sadly you'll have to test it on your server to see how it works there. Ping can also play a role. If this does NOT work for you in singleplayer, there was probably a major lag spike or just not enough fps. And check your wiring ;) Sorry for any inconveniences, but I can't really test it on every computer out there :P

*You could easily make the wiring so you dont have to wait at the start. It is slower than other designs but 100% efficient, so as you have item elevators running in the background while doing other stuff, it doesnt really matter (unless you have a farm that produces more items than the speed of this elevator).
