The 4th and final Turok game for an 8-bit system continues the top-down perspective from Turok: Rage Wars but shifts the action up a notch or two. The plot: After years of fighting, the Solidarity Order has managed to sway discontented members of the Amaranthine Accordance to their side. As the First Vicar and the Endtrails lose power, Hellis'Sin, the son of the last bloodqueen, emerges from hiding to reclaim his rightful place on the throne as the new bloodking, now backed by the Solidarity Order.
The Amaranthine Accordance has decided to use a dimensional gate to travel to Earth and use the soon-to-be-conquered humans' weapons against the Order in an effort to regain control. Hellis'Sin contacts Turok, knowing that with his help the Order can prevail.
This game attempts to inject some dynamic gameplay to preceedings with vehicle stages acting as a sort of level map to travel to your objectives. The 5 levels are very short but pretty action packed courtesy of the spawning enemies.
Removing the stupidly OP infinite weapon glitch from TRW this game is a bit more robust and perhaps more well thought out than its predecessor. Better late than never also is the inclusion of some heavy randomness to a couple of bosses, making the vision on what the ceilings are in this game a bit more blurry. I couldn't completely rule out, for example, a run finishing in 18:xx for those more dedicated.
This concludes my 8bit Turok crusade! I hope at least a few people got enjoyment from these runs. It's been a blast to finally get round to playing them all and ambitiously speedrun them.
