🛠 Welcome to Marc Adams School of Woodworking! 🛠
🎥 Will Lerums is an instructor at the Marc Adams School of Woodworking, focusing on woodturning for furniture makers. This class centers on essential woodturning tools used to craft items like a plant stand or Shaker-inspired furniture. Key tools include the Spindle Roughing Gouge, for converting wood from square to round; the Spindle Detail Gouge, for detailed shaping; and the Parting Tool for sizing tenons. A student was highlighted using a half-speed grinder to sharpen a skew chisel, one of the oldest tools in woodturning that can be employed to create various forms—including beads, coves, and intricate small details. This class goes beyond the basics crafting real, beautiful, and functional pieces of furniture straight from the turning room!

📖 Meet the Instructor!
Will Lerums, a proud Hoosier and full-time staff member at MASW, was inspired by his grandfather's love for woodworking and began engaging in furniture design and construction at a young age. After graduating in 2014, he worked as a project engineer for a commercial design-build company in Chicago, where he collaborated with project owners, architects, engineers, and designers to deliver high-end design-build solutions. Will was introduced to MASW in 2016 by his mother, a fellow student, and interned at the school in 2017. In his free time, he enjoys camping with friends and family and exploring the outdoors.
